I tried reaching out to FA through their bug report option, but it didn't really help, as well as trying to reach out to them on Twitter. neither do the ads show when I open the program. after I installed the new update for MacOS though, I noticed that the program does not generate a new QR code for me anymore when I request one for my digital work. I bought a Macbook Air (2020) in September and before I updated to their new update, Big Sur, I was able to use the QR code feature, as well as have those pesky ads that FA has when you open the program.
